A Friend

Many people want friends but complain that they don’t have any.  My mother told me that to have friends, you have to be a friend.  I think a mistake that people make is that they want to tell God who should be their friends.  Since I am in the process of being crucified to self, I need to seek whomever God puts before me to become their friend.  Yes, we need to be there for everyone, including our “enemies”, as friends.  (I believe that we should not see people as our enemies – but that is another lesson)  Sadly, adults have not learned to listen to God in developing friendships.
